Monday, November 1, 2010 was our first day Oberer's Flowers was open at the historic City Market in downtown Indianapolis. We have a beautiful spot with lots of flowers and plants to sell. Come visit us!

On Saturday, Oct. 23rd we held a design class at our Carmel store. The participants of this free event learned some of the tricks of the trade as they designed an arrangement in a 6" bubble bowl with one dozen assorted roses, hypericum, thistle and nandinia foliage. The results were stunning, and everyone had a wonderful time.

Our grand opening in
Indianapolis was a huge success!

Thanks to all who attended our grand opening in Indianapolis! We were overwhelmed with the friendly welcome response and by the pure number of those who visited. We estimate nearly 4,000 people attended within the twelve hour period of our open house last Tuesday. We gave away several thousand flower arrangements, hundreds of plants and planters, over 400 hardy mums, truckloads of loose roses, and still ran out. In addition we gave away 900 $50 gift certificates/rain checks.

Met new friends and some old ones
At our grand opening in Carmel we met a lot of new friends, but to our surprise we found some old ones as well. Rita Spitler informed us that Oberer's did her wedding flowers 64 years ago.

Below are a few pictures of our new Indianapolis store in Carmel. It is a
beautiful 3,000 sq. ft. space with 30' high ceilings and windows on three sides.
Our 1,000 sq. ft. cooler, open to the public, will be bursting full of colorful
blooms of flowers from all corners of the world. Our designers will be creating
exquisite designs and our plant manager will have the place stocked with
wonderful tropical plants.
Rob Spikol will be the manager of our Indianapolis operations. He
has an extensive background in floristry getting much of his training in the
Philadelphia area at the mega florist, Flower World, from one of the great
innovators in the industry, Bob Sheets. Rob is no stranger to Oberer's as he
helped with our first expansions outside of our home town of Dayton. He most
recently resided in Miami Beach Florida.
We look forward to our new beginnings in Indianapolis and promise
to earn the respect of it's residence.
